New York Jets assistant coach, Sal Alosi, was caught on national TV tripping Miami’s Nolan Carroll Sunday during the Jets – Dolphins game. Alosi apologized for a “total lapse in judgment.” “My conduct was inexcusable and unsportsmanlike and does not reflect what this organization stands for. I accept responsibility for my actions as well as any punishment that follows.”

Alosi interfered with Carroll when he appeared to stick his knee out and trip Carroll as the Miami player ran along the Jets’ sideline. His action sparked sharp responses. Said Ricky Williams: “It’s the Jets right? We’re not surprised

Carroll stayed in the game at cornerback and had the Dolphins’ only interception in his team’s 10-6 win. “I just remember running,” Carroll said. “Water off a duck’s back.” He added, “If he gets fined, then give me the money.”

Jets spokesman Bruce Speight said the organization was “looking into appropriate next steps,” something the NFL will do this week as well.
