In the spirit of camaraderie and finding a cure, George Gee Automotive Group of Spokane and Coeur d’Alene is partnering with Gonzaga Basketball’s Mark and Marcy Few by donating a portion of car sales to Spokane’s Coaches vs. Cancer fundraiser.
During the month of August, Gee Automotive group will donate a portion of proceeds from every new and used car purchase from the Liberty Lake and Coeur d’Alene dealerships. These donations will support the American Cancer Society in their research, education, advocacy and community service activities.
As one of the founding supporters of the local Coaches vs. Cancer fundraiser, Gee saw this promotion as another way of giving back to those who have been impacted by cancer in our local community.
“Everyone has, in some way, been affected by cancer,” Ryan Gee said. “Coaches vs. Cancer and the American Cancer Society are working together to try and end the effects of this disease. We want to do our part to help.”
Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). The idea began in 1993 and has grown to encompass basketball programs throughout the United States to help eliminate cancer as a life threatening disease. Today, more than 2,000 Division I, II and II college coaches are involved in the program. The local fundraiser takes place August 27-28, 2010, and includes a golf tournament at Spokane Country Club and Manito Country Club, along with a gala at the Davenport Hotel and Tower.
