The new line of MAPTrix ECM-based cosmeceutical products are recombinantly engineered skincare products that help clients rejuvenate their skin. An additional bioactive peptide called W3 bio-peptide is also included in the skincare products for skin whitening and anti-wrinkle effects. The cosmeceutical skincare products are being launched under the “LAAC” brand name.
NOVACELL Technology received clearance from the CTFA (Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association) for MAPTrix? ECM and W3 peptides as substances applied to the skin in March of 2010; and, both MAPTrix? ECM and W3 are currently registered in the International Cosmetic Ingredient Dictionary (ICID).
“We have finished the installation of the manufacture line and have now entered the sales phase. We are confident that the cosmeceutical market will find our LAAC products as an exciting alternative to existing cosmeceutical products currently on the market. Our novel skincare offerings combine the latest advances in skincare technology to help our clients rejuvenate their skin.” said Taehoon Lee, the President and CEO of NOVACELL Technology.
MAPTrix ECM is a next generation bioactive cosmetic ingredient that will command attention in the cosmetic industry as collagen has in the past, stated Dr. Lee. He also stated that NOVACELL will continue to make all efforts to grow this prospective ingredient to continuously feed various product lines of cosmeceuticals for use in the global cosmetic market.
“The extracellular matrix (ECM) of the skin’s dermis – which contains key biologically active ingredients for skin rejuvenation – is composed primarily of Type-I collagen, fibronectin and related proteins. MAPTrix? ECM (recombinantly engineered protein products) can offer a similar composition as the naturally occurring ECM for skin regeneration and maintenance. The successful launch of LAAC demonstrates that Kollodis BioSciences’ MAPTrix ECM is an effective ingredient for tissue regeneration and winkle improvement”, said Dr. Louis M. Scarmoutzos, Chief Executive Officer of Kollodis BioSciences.
