WorldSync, Inc., leading provider of tools for synchronization with FileMaker Pro databases, today announced the release and immediate availability of SyncDeK 8.0 boasting a brand-new web-based user interface and introducing server-side audit trail, backup and restoration services, as well as huge boosts in data replication performance. SyncDeK 8 will be shown for the first time in the Product Showcase at the annual FileMaker Developer Conference in San Diego Aug. 15-18.
SyncDek 8 provides a single server-side console from which database developers and administrators can now configure continuous offsite backup, audit logging, data restoration and data synchronization for connecting multiple offices, mobile users and SQL data sources.
“The combined abilities in SyncDeK 8 give FileMaker developers some stunning technological advances to overcome common challenges facing FileMaker deployments in modern business environments,” said Jason Erickson, president and CEO of WorldSync, Inc. “And with the new web-based user interface, enabling these powerful data management services is a snap.”
Creating a new SyncDeK solution involves configuring the database connection settings, and choosing which of the available services to enable. Services include: Backup and Restoration, Audit Logging and Data Replication. Regardless which services are selected, SyncDeK will monitor the database to detect record add, change and delete actions in configured tables. By default, all data fields from all tables in the specified database will be monitored. The edit settings option allows you to turn off any tables or fields you don’t want to track.
By default, the Audit Logging service creates a new table in the specified data source to store field-level change history. However, through edit settings, any desired data target can be specified, whether local or remote and in FileMaker, MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL or Sybase.
