Blackbird Attic Gives Clothes, and Kittens, A Second Chance

Blackbird Attic, a consignment boutique specializing in vintage clothing, has opened its doors on Beacon’s historic Main Street.

Owned by Michelle Caves, Blackbird Attic offers a variety of modern and vintage apparel for men and women, along with footwear, accessories, and home goods.

In addition to selling affordable, high quality clothing, Blackbird Attic aims to support and give back to the community.

“The reason I moved to Beacon is because I love the arts scene and culture here,” says Caves. “I want to bring that feeling into Blackbird Attic and highlight local artisans through gallery shows and special events.”

A recent event, “Arts & Cats,” featured a children’s art show and kitten adoption while raising funds for the Community Cat Coalition, a local group that inspires citizens in the Beacon area to humanely address the cat overpopulation issue.

Blackbird Attic is open on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Individuals who consign receive 45% of the item’s sale value. For items to be accepted, they must be in excellent condition and purchased either within the past three years or before 1985.  Items can be dropped off during store hours.
