House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was on Capitol Hill last night as the Fire Pelosi Express roared across the nation.
America voted, America spoke, the two-term Speaker of the House was dethroned. Pelosi won her local reelection for 2010 in Congress. But Ohio Republican John Boehner will most likely be replacing her as House Speaker during the next Congress. The election results were also rough on Barack Obama. The Tea Party played a huge role in last night’s victories from South Carolina to Utah.
There is doubt now that Pelosi will even carry on as Minority Leader. The Tea Party helped the GOP win key elections in South Carolina and elsewhere, leaving Barack Obama nervous about 2012.
Tuesday’s election was less about supporting Republicans than it was about stopping the Far-Left agenda of Obama, Reid and Pelosi. They began in 2009 owning it all, the White House plus super majorities in both the House and the Senate. The Democrats could have passed any legislation they wanted to, but their record proved to be dismal. They certainly did pass bills that the American people opposed, such as the health care take over and the carbon-climate ‘Cap & Tax’ bill, yet couldn’t come to grips with tax cuts and other economic issues.
Now Republicans will have to step up to the plate and show voters they got the message.
Many races were very close, demonstrating that there are very few red or blue states. America is mostly purple.
