Tiger Woods officially entered The Barclays, which starts Aug. 26. It’s the first FedEx Cup playoff event, but could also be his last if his game isn’t up to snuff.
Woods is No. 108 in the standings, and can go further down the list depending on the Wyndham Championship. Only the top 125 players are eligible for The Barclays, which is at Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, N.J.
The Barclays is one of four FedEx playoff events that conclude with the Tour Championship and a $10-million prize to the winner of the yearlong Cup competition.
Woods, still the No. 1 player in the world, has won the FedEx Cup and its $10-million prize two of the last three years. He was recovering from knee surgery the other year and did not play. After The Barclays, only the top 100 in the standings advance to the Deutsche Bank Championship the following week outside Boston.
