Wiz Khalifa
Rapper Wiz Khalifa was arrested by Campus officers after a live show at East Carolina University Monday night for multiple marijuana violations, including trafficking marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a place for the sale of marijuana.
The hip-hop star, who was recently named MTV’s Hottest Breakthrough MC of 2010, was performing for students in Greenville, North Carolina as part of his “Waken Baken Tour 2010” tour, when police officers are said to have cut the concert short.
The Pittsburgh rapper’s tour bus was reportedly raided, which apparently resulted in authorities finding marijuana. He was placed in Pitt County Detention Center early Tuesday morning and later released on bond.
Police may have been alerted by the rapper’s most recent tweet which read, “Smoke outs greenville, nc tonight. Fall thru wit ur finest plant life.” Marijuana features heavily in Khalifa’s rhymes. Monday night’s performance and he has boasted in the past about smoking $10,000 worth of weed per month and recently launched his own line of rolling papers.
